Leya was born from a personal search and a simple question. The bags I was drawn to, understated, well-made, designed with purpose rather than noise, were hard to find closer to home. But the craft and skill to make them had always been here.
India has long been where the world's leather goods are made, quietly, carefully, by hands that understand the material deeply. Some of the most celebrated names in fashion are built on Indian craft. And yet that same craft was rarely being turned inward, rarely being used to create something we could truly call our own, and offer to the world on our own terms.

Leya, pronounced Lay-ah, is inspired by the lioness, representing quiet strength, a balance of power and grace that feels both enduring and deeply personal.
We are a contemporary leather goods brand built on the belief that timeless design comes from simplicity, intention, and meticulous craftsmanship. What makes Leya distinct is the meeting point it occupies, Indian craftsmanship at its finest, expressed through a global design sensibility. Two traditions, brought together quietly and deliberately.

Materials Used
Every Leya bag is crafted in India using responsibly sourced, LWG-certified top-grain leather, selected for its softness, natural character, and ability to age beautifully. Interiors are lined with premium microfibre suede, offering the warmth and texture of traditional suede while remaining durable, lightweight, and easy to care for.
We work closely with skilled artisans whose experience guides every stage of the making process. Their craftsmanship lives in the hand-cut patterns, precise stitching, and carefully finished edges that give each piece its quiet character.
To honour the materials we use and minimise waste, leather off-cuts are repurposed into smaller goods that carry the same care as every design we make.
